India is quite fortunate in this regard as it has some of the best places which are considered to be the best to know about the ancient cultures. That is one of the reasons that UNESCO has declared few of the places as the world heritage sites. Although, there are a lot of things and places that are to be visited in almost all of the states, however, there are some places which you must never miss, especially in your first visit.

The first and the foremost place is Taj Mahal. It is the place that is famous all around the world and it has now become a thing of recognition for India. However, one thing that is worth mentioning is that it will be a completely different experience to visit Taj Mahal, rather than just to read or hear about it. The beauty is terrific and the architectural style which is used in building this masterpiece is nothing less than glorious. It is because of this amazing architecture that it has been the top tourist spot in India. Actually, the people who come to India don’t know much about other places, but one place that they always s know is Taj Mahal. So, don’t miss this piece of amazing workmanship in your first visit.

The other best thing is the palaces of Rajasthan. Rajasthan is the place where you will come across an amazing culture. Traditions which are kept alive by the people of Rajasthan are really something to watch for. However, the most amazing thing about Rajasthan is its resource of historical places. Palaces of Rajasthan are really amazing and they tell you all about the culture that is still prevailing in this part of the country.

If beaches are at your priority, then the best place to spend your holidays is Goa. Goa is one of those places that have all of the ingredients of making your holiday a perfect one. When you will be in Goa, don’t forget to take part in Goa Carnival as here you will be able to witness the best combination of dance, music and food.

In your visit to India, don’t forget to pay a visit to Kerala. Kerala is a place that requires a good amount of time to get fully explored. Actually, there are a lot of things, in fact; all of the things which are in Kerala are spellbinding. If you are visiting India for the first time, then Kerala is the place that will teach you a lot about the core India culture.

As a whole, you can find a lot of places in India where you can spend a perfect holiday; however, it will depend on you as what are the criteria for you to judge the perfect holiday.

By: Amit Patel Bhawani

One of the Eight Wonders of the world is Taj Mahal situated in Agra city of India. It is a well laid fact which is even preached in the west that its architectural beauty has no surpasses. It was developed in the era of Mughal rule in India by the Emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. Taj Mahal is a not a palace but a mausoleum that accommodates the grave of queen Mumtaz Mahal and Shah Jahan.

This spectacular structure was built over a long period of twenty years and it took around twenty thousand workers to complete it in 1648 CE. Expert craftsmen were employed in this humongous job by the king Shah Jahan from all over India, Lahore, Multan (currently in Pakistan).

This mausoleum of the Taj Mahal at Agra well stands in a walled garden which is entered through a pavilion on the main axis. This whole structure is build with pristine white marble and some part of it in red sandstone. In the interior of this wonderful structure one can find dim lights lit through pierced marble lattices, but well opposite to it in the external frame that it responds to the changing light and weather conditions and gives a never before sight experience in full moon nights, when the silver light from the moon falls on this wonderful structure and makes it gloom.

People from far off places come to visit this place just to get a glimpse of this symbol of love and awaits full moon nights to watch its beauty in entirety.

By: Kuldeep Singh

India happens to offer a whole range of activities for foreigners who are considering taking a vacation somewhere in Asia. You will be able to find a lot of things to see and do that are distinctly Indian. You see, they happen to host several religions and multiple cultures that will keep you wondering every time, and if you want to find out more about Bollywood, then here’s your chance.

1.) Kolkata

Previously, this city was named Calcutta where one will find fabulous colonial buildings that will transport seem to transport you to another place and time. The place abounds with cultural samples of all that is Indian. It is also known as the City of Joy.

2.) Bangalore

This is another notable city which used to be home to pensioners. Now, this place has become populated with pubs and technological companies. These companies show advances in industrialization in the area, which used to be a place of slow leisure.

3.) Taj Mahal

Taj Mahal is found in Agra and named as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Who can forget the story of the ruler who loved his wife so much that he built this building to keep her happy? And to actually see what this ruler built would make one gasp in awe at its majestic architecture. Imagine people during that time coming up with such structures despite the lack of modern equipment.

4.) Goa

This landmark happens to be a destination of a mixture of cultures where east meets west. Check out this place for great buys in an urbanized city which offers a whole gamut of merchandise. If you want to take a dip in a beach, then you will want to check out this place so you can cool off after a day’s drive to other beautiful sites and landmarks.

5.) Bodh Gaya

Many times, people will only have literature to hold on to stories of our religion and culture. But at Bodh Gaya, one can find the place Indians believe is where Buddha Sakyamuni gained enlightenment. Buddha happens to be one of India’s most revered gods on which Buddhism has come about.

6.) Hampi

It is always a pleasure to see the ruins of a building that have withstood the test of time, and Hampi happens to be the very place. This was where the center of the Vijayanagara Empire was once seated. You will find here the ruins of that empire, proof of its existence in India where it once flourished and ruled the land.

7.) Meenakshi Temple

We know Hinduism is one of the major religions of India. We know how churches of other religions look like, but ever wondered how a Hindu temple could be different from other temples? Wonder no more as this spectacular temple is open to all visitors in Madurai, India.

8.) Ellora

This place is also called Ajanta. It is popularly known as a holy place specifically for Hindus, Buddhists and Jains. What makes this place extra special is that these are cave monasteries and temples that have been shaped and cut by rocks to its form.

9.) National Parks

India has no less than 20 national parks one could visit while there. There are three in Karnataka, two each in Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, and Rajasthan. There’s one each in Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Gujurat and Andman and Nicobar.

10.) Indian Cuisine

India is popular for its spicy foods because of their love for using chili in their meals. You will hear of kebab, kofta, Tandoori chicken, sarson da saag, and many more. In addition, wheat products abound in the place where roti (Indian bread) and other bread varieties like chapatti, paratha, naan and puri can be eaten with gusto.

By: Jonathan Williams
