As an ideal visiting time to Bangkok is between August and December,as April is the hottest month so avoid going there during this time. Same goes for the month between July to October as heavy rains can affect your trip.

During winter season, is the major tourist influx, however if you hate being in crowd then you must travel during May or june. Dont worry about the fares of air tickets to Bangkok as getting into Bangkok to your final destination in one of the Southern Islands by train or bus instead of by plane can save you up to 70$ each way. In this case you save, between relatively expensive airfare and train or bus ticket, the first night’s accommodation cost is approximately 50$ – 100$ per bungalow per night.
